Meet our SF team!

Welcome to 1902B Fillmore in San Francisco! For those of you who haven't visited, we thought we'd introduce you to the team!

Inja is our guiding light on Fillmore -- she designs the displays in the store, making sure that everything is perfectly beautiful, she creates the most magnificent windows and is an overall joy, bringing positive, warm energy everywhere she goes! In addition to working with us, she's a calligrapher, having gotten her start at the Artifactory Cooperative in Palo Alto in 1983 and continuing to practice her art and teach classes.

Dee Dee and Ginger

Like their sister Inja, Dee Dee and Ginger started out as customers and now welcome new customers to the family on Wednesdays! When not hanging out at Fillmore, Ginger spends her time watching tennis (go Roger!) and is known for her impeccable taste in shoes. Dee Dee is an avid quilter (she's a charter member of the African American Quilt Guild of Oakland) and loves to travel (next stop: Santa Fe!)! Shopping with these ladies is a treat!

Farima

Born and raised in Senegal, Farima moved to the US to study at UC Davis. She's passionate about fashion and the historic and cultural significance of kitenge fabric. She doesn't miss an opportunity to share her knowledge with anyone who's interested. Whenever Farima is not in the store, she can be found walking the runway or posing in a photo studio, somewhere between NY, LA, and SF.

Pauline

Meet Pauline! She moved to the US from Rwanda in high school, and now attends the Academy of Art University where she's studying communication & media technology. When she's not at the store or in school, she loves to make collages!

WHAT WE'RE READING // The Girl With The Louding Voice by Abi Daré

Adunni wants an education because she knows that it is the only way she will be able to speak for her future, and to be heard -- to have a “louding voice.” Her father instead sells her to an older man and she soon finds herself in a life of servitude. With determination and voice that can't be silenced, Adunni's story is an inspiration. We can't recommend Daré's book enough, AND we're thrilled to be giving away copies of this book today on Instagram!
