Meet our production partner, SOKO Kenya! Based in Kikambala on the Kenyan coast, they are an ethical manufacturer that truly embraces a fair, kind and transparent work culture. In addition to paying above living wages, SOKO provides employees with paid leave and stipends for family emergencies, free pre-primary childcare for all employees with children from ages 2-4, daily mid-morning tea and midday lunch, and clear, outlined processes for job advancement. These values extend to the workspace itself, which is open, airy and bright. It’s truly a privilege to work with the SOKO team, and we invite you to learn more about the stitching process here!
When we say 100% Made in Kenya, we really mean it! Made from cotton grown in western Kenya and designed, printed and stitched outside of Nairobi, it doesn't get more local than this! We’re so proud to be part of an ecosystem supporting and advocating for Kenyan agriculture and manufacturing. Learn more about these fabrics are made here!
The ecosystem for rotary printed fabrics is complex and truly global. While it's rare to see a rotary printed textile produced in a closed-circuit, farm-to-shop supply chain, the fabrics we're producing are verifiably 100% made in Kenya. Not just traceable, but local. Not just identifiable, but ethical and accountable.
Our production impacts hundreds of smallholder farmers and their families each year. It impacts young Kenyan artists whose voices and work may now have a slightly bigger audience (and fan club:) ). It impacts the Kenyan textile manufacturing industry, which for years has been out-competed in the local market by imported fabrics. Finally, it impacts you, because you can know that your dress was made ethically, honestly, and with pride.

This dress caught my eye over a year ago, and I was finally able to order it with another (Wishful Thinking) in May. I live in southern Japan, in a semi-tropical climate. As a petite (5'1") but curvy woman, I have struggled much of my life to find clothing that fits and flatters, as well as feels good. This dress does it all, and it's machine washable to boot! I belt it for a more fitted look, but will wear it with jeans, leggings or a coat when winter comes, so I think it can work in all seasons. The colors are awesome and the design is unforgettable. If I could, I would post a photo of myself wearing this dress, which easily goes from Zoom to dinner to international flights! Was this helpful?
- AMAlison M.Verified BuyerI do not recommend this productRated 2 stars3 weeks agoI'm sad!
I ordered this beautiful print dress from the 'lightweight' material section. I was so sad when the dress came, as it is made of very thick, densely woven cotton. Living in the steamy Southern US I literally got too hot just trying it on. Unfortunately, the placket and raised neckline just make it even hotter. I would love a Zuri dress that was made of lightweight, hot-weather, floaty cotton. This was thick and sturdy enough to make a cushion or a jacket out of!
Then, the sizing. I'm usually and XXL or 1XL. I picked the size I ordered based on the arm dimensions in the Zuri size chart. But the way it's cut, if you have big arms (yep, me) you also need enormous shoulders (nope, not me) or else the size you choose won't fit or look right when you put it on, as it will hang off your shoulders.
I'm sad because I would love a hot pink Zuri dress that actually was lightweight :-( Are any of them lightweight? I have no idea!
Great idea, I love this company's business ethos, but I'm afraid I won't be trying Zuri again. Was this helpful?

I'm currently 9 months pregnant with my second baby and having a bit of a rough go. I put this dress on to run some quick errands yesterday and was stopped by three different strangers who all said how much they loved it and how great I looked — in the heart of Los Angeles at nine months pregnant!! Best part: I was totally comfortableWas this helpful?

Perks me up whenever I put it on, and everyone loves the color and print. The pink is not acidic in real life and is actually somewhat muted (for hot pink). Was this helpful?

I'm SO bummed out as this was my first Zuri purchase and I was excited to buy more dresses in this style... but if you're buying plus size, the arms are comically small. The dress is beautiful and otherwise fit perfectly, I just couldn't lower my arms with it on. Larger people need larger sleeves! I'm sadly returning the item. Was this helpful?
