Like for many of you, COVID-19 is very much top of mind for us, and we wanted to share what we're doing at this time.
We are taking extra precautions with our production team in Kenya to make sure that everyone stays safe during this time. In addition, we've shifted our production in Kenya to making masks, and we've produced and donated more than 15,000 masks so far to Penda Health, a system of 13 clinics operating in low-income, high density communities across Nairobi, and Jacaranda Health, a non-profit that mentors nurses in public hospitals and operates a maternity hospital in Nairobi. We are also donating proceeds from our mask sales totaling $10,000 so far to Give Directly's Kenya Covid-19 Fund.
Join us in making masks! We've compiled a tutorial explaining how to make a mask at home (hand-sewn and sewing machine) and printable patterns. The CDC now recommends that everyone wear masks when outside, so we encourage you to visit our tutorial.
Finally, we want to remind everyone that keeping in touch and staying connected to each other is important! While we may not be hugging or sharing communal experiences as much, pick up the phone and call a neighbor, send us an email if you're feeling lonely or just have a really good book recommendation (we'll respond!), and be mindful of those in our communities who aren't able to social distance or stock a pantry (on that note, here's a link to donate to Feeding America).
As a small business, you, our community, enable us to exist! These are uncertain times for all of us, and we are navigating big decisions everyday. We often think about how lucky we are to have a community like we do, and it really is thanks to you!
Are Zuri stores closed?
On July 1, we re-opened our stores. We are taking all necessary precautions to protect both our team and you with routine cleaning and health checks, and we will be responsive to updates in state and city protocols.
We are also taking private shopping appointments, so please feel free to reach out (email@example.com) to schedule a time at either location.

In response to COVID-19, we have relaxed our returns policy from 15 days to a flexible window. Please contact us if you'd like to make a return or exchange.
