Meet our production partner, SOKO Kenya! Based in Kikambala on the Kenyan coast, they are an ethical manufacturer that truly embraces a fair, kind and transparent work culture. In addition to paying above living wages, SOKO provides employees with paid leave and stipends for family emergencies, free pre-primary childcare for all employees with children from ages 2-4, daily mid-morning tea and midday lunch, and clear, outlined processes for job advancement. These values extend to the workspace itself, which is open, airy and bright. It’s truly a privilege to work with the SOKO team, and we invite you to learn more about the stitching process here!

We're so proud to be working with Edwina and her cooperative of batik dyers in Accra, Ghana, to make these prints! Learn more about these fabrics here!

In order to create a batik fabric, recycled wax is melted and applied to the fabric using a stamped pattern. Edwina carves each stamped design herself in foam, which is easier to repurpose and work with than wood. Together with several women in Accra, Ghana, Edwina and her team always create designs that play on both pattern and layered color in a truly original way. Since we began working together in 2018, we've produced over 40 unique textiles together, keeping them in continuous production since we started. We're so honored to share this collaboration with Edwina and her team!

      Beautiful Blues

This is a unique print! It looks great with jeans, and it's a flattering color of royal blue, dark blue, light blue and white. It's very comfortable. I got my usual size XS, and the fit is perfect. Not too tight in the arms or shoulders.

      Excited and very happy

Having viewed from the sidelines for ages, I finally took the plunge and bought this dress, though it was and is, incredibly hard to choose between the lovely fabrics. I love the dress and it was beautifully packed. I am delighted to buy something so stylish and also ethical and benefitting a sustainable and fairer world. I will definitely be back for more... Thanks Zuri. If you had an outlet in the UK I would definitely visit.

Wow! Just stunning! Extremely artistic and versitile

This is my first time ordering a Zuri dress and I am now a big fan! I hesitated ordering a Zuri at first because it is a bit more expensive when converting to Australian dollars and the shipping fee for 1 dress is almost $50AUD so you have to order 2 dresses to not pay the shipping fee. That said, I just love everything about this dress and I will def be wearing it all the time. The fabric is thick which makes it work very well as a coat and the design and colour of this batik is so artistic and makes it work for so many occasions and seasons! I also love the bag that the dress came in- I will definately be using this bag the next time I'm heading to a market. And lastly, I still can't believe how quick it was to arrive in Sydney, Australia! Will def be looking out for new prints to add to my collection which is a bit of a dilema for this minimalist!

      Beautiful batik for all seasons!

I love love LOVE this gorgeous batik in multiple shades of blue! The colours are vibrant and rich and the graphic lines are fresh and crisp! Fits true to size in high quality cotton fabric- and let's face it, it's downright MAGICAL how Zuri dresses are universally flattering on every body type! I delight in every one of my 14 Zuri's but this one immediately moves to the front of my closet because I can see myself wearing this charmer through every season of the year! (Full disclosure: Cost-per-wear rarely factors into my own decision-making, but if that's important to you, let me assure you that this is one heck of a versatile dress that can be styled in 1001 fabulous ways!)

      Loving these Batiks!

This is my second batik zuri and my first long zuri. First, the batik print is really unique and the pattern is really flattering. Second, I love the long length! I am 5’9” and I like wearing regular zuri dresses as tunic tops but I feel like I could actually wear the long as a dress and not worry about revealing too much when bending down. Highly recommend!
