Like the recycled glass beads, I would say one strand is at least 1.5 to 2 lbs. - they’re just large enough to fit over my head and wear like a lei. Each bead is made of animal bone wrapped over an inner wood core. I had some fun at the Fillmore store where I wore two of the glass beads and one of bone necklaces - also very weighty. The combined weight of the three was excessive but also comforting!
I like wearing this as is, but if and when the string breaks or frays over time I’ll definitely either re-string or repurpose the beads for other projects. The Fillmore store had the beads in two styles - one more rounded and then the one I chose which were more squared off - I love that they reminded me of marshmallows!
