Love Train Maxi

Another marvelous Zuri maxi. The darker background renders the dress elegant. It also makes the flowers pop. I think it will be a beautiful late spring/early autum piece (at least for Southern California), perfect for a nice dinner out or a play/concert. The fabric is medim weight - not thin, but not as heavy as some other Zuris - just right for draping in a sophisticated way and giving the dress a dignified aspect. I have added darts for a fitted look I prefer in maxis.

I love this print, especially since it's a nice midweight - not the lightest, but also not the stiffest - just very comfortable... it will be perfect year-round... a little cashmere cardigan completed the look today, with a pair of chelsea boots and I was ready for the entire day and night...

I’m quickly becoming a fervent aficionado of maxi dresses, and if a matching belt is available, I’m totally on board! Love Train is an upbeat pattern that can go from dressy to casual easily. The midweight fabric is more soft than stiff. It’s one of the only Zuris I’ve worn right out of the package. Looking forward to wearing it all year round!

I notice this has the same color shifting effect as the “Obscura Maxi” print. Up close the reds and the blues morph into more of a magenta/pink at a distance.

I love the swirling black stems that connect the flower motifs surrounded by tightly packed red and white dots to fill up all the background space.

It’s a very mod print. Harkens to 60s and 70s patterns. I’m charmed by this one. I went back and purchased it the day after I tried it on.

I’m wearing my usual size L in this style. I’m 5’3 and usually wear a US size 14/16.
