In order to create a batik fabric, recycled wax is melted and applied to the fabric using a stamped pattern. Edwina carves each stamped design herself in foam, which is easier to repurpose and work with than wood. Together with several women in Accra, Ghana, Edwina and her team always create designs that play on both pattern and layered color in a truly original way. Since we began working together in 2018, we've produced over 40 unique textiles together, keeping them in continuous production since we started. My first short sleeve Zuri shirt and I love it. The print is amazing and is what makes this one such a joy to wear. It’s definitely oversized and I’m now thinking I should’ve gotten my usual XS but for the long sleeve shirts I often go up one or two sizes for a looser fit. Anyway, it’s super comfortable and I’m loving this print!

Like these styles of shirts with short sleeves. Sized down for a more regular fit. Normally wear M-L in the dresses and got XS for the shirt.

At first I didn’t love the pattern but when sizes were running low, I panicked and jumped on a medium. I couldn’t be happier! It was love at first sight. Pattern and the blue colour are amazing! It is a boxy and roomy fit but I just love it.

I bought this to wear as a casual garden jacket. I am an avid gardener. I could wear it everyday like a lab coat but I wish it had two big patch pockets to hold my snips and gloves! I wear it over a tank top.
