Sweetbriar reminds me of a bit of clothing- a button placket, a collar or sash- with which one of the Brontes may have adorned their attire. It is modest and a bit prim, but who knows what lurks beneath that oddly ladylike, but a bit darkish frock? The pleasure is in the mystery.....
